Advantages of waterjet cutting garnet sand
Waterjet cutting garnet sand is mineral garnet and which can be used for waterjet cutting.

Garnet, as the core abrasive for waterjet cutting, has the following main advantages: high hardness (Mohs 7.5–8), sharp polyhedral particle structure, high cutting efficiency (30%–50% faster than quartz sand), narrow kerf with high precision, no free silica, environmentally friendly and safe, less wear on the waterjet tube, moderate cost, and wide applicability to materials (metals, stone, ceramics, glass, etc.).
High-efficiency cutting: High hardness and sharp edges enable rapid cutting of hard materials such as stainless steel, granite, and titanium alloys, with thicknesses up to 150mm and above.
High precision and smooth cut surface: Uniform particles and good flowability reduce kerf width (typically 0.1–1 mm), enabling complex contours without burrs.
Environmentally friendly and non-toxic: It contains no free silica, the cutting process is virtually dust-free, and the wastewater is recyclable, meeting occupational health and environmental protection standards.
Low equipment loss: Moderate hardness (lower than aluminum oxide/silicon carbide), significantly reducing the wear of water jet nozzles and sand pipes, and extending the life of key components.
Chemical stability: resistant to acids and alkalis, does not react with water, has stable performance during storage and use, and has good batch consistency when there are few impurities.
Excellent economic performance: Abundant natural mineral resources, with domestically produced high-quality 80-mesh waterjet abrasive priced at approximately 600-1200 yuan/ton, offering better overall cost-effectiveness than synthetic superhard abrasives.
