Brown corundum has higher mohs hardness,which is about 9.0,but garnet is about 7.5-8.0.so brown corundum powder is used for blasting,grinding and polishing harder parts,but garnet powder is a little soft comparatively,then it can be chosen to be used for soft workpieces.

Sixth:Cost

Brown corundum is artificial abrasives,its process is very complex,so it cost higher,but garnet powder is from natural garnet,cost lower,if the user take cost into consideration too much,garnet powder is a better choice.

Seventh:Environment protection

When blasting/grinding/polishing,brown corundum powder will produce more dust.
