What glass processing garnet sand is used for waterjet cutting?
Everyone knows that garnet sand can be used in warerjet cutting glass, metal, ceramics etc,but what glass processing garnet sand is used for waterjet cutting?

Today we talk it exactly:
Usually the glass plants who produce high-precision, irregularly shaped, or easily chipped glass products (such as optical lenses, watch/cosmetic mirrors, lighting glass, architectural glass, and tempered glass cutting) will use garnet sand for waterjet cutting.
Typical applications: Glass requiring cold cutting, no thermal stress, and high-precision contour processing, such as optical glass, cosmetic box/watch lenses, high-end lighting glass, art glass curtain wall components, and thin tempered glass.
Commonly used grit size: 80 mesh ,100mesh 120mesh garnet sand (balancing cutting efficiency and cut smoothness, reducing glass chipping).
Not applicable situations: Straight-line cutting of ordinary flat glass (usually using lathe tools or lasers), or daily-use glass with low requirements for cutting precision (such as bottles and jars).
Garnet waterjet cutting sand, with its moderate hardness (Mohs 7.5–8), sharp particles, and good chemical inertness, enables “cold cutting” of glass, avoiding cracks and thermal deformation. It is a preferred abrasive in precision glass processing, replacing traditional grinding wheels or lasers.
